Daniel Himmelstein discusses the need to make medical research and scientific findings available to everyone, as well as to have the information displayed in a way that may be understandable and reusable for people outside science and not only limited to be exploited among scientists. Himmelstein considers, that though there have been breakthroughs in this regard, there’s still a long way to go, since most material placed requires licenses to provide full access. As the conversation goes along, he shares how his frustrations give life to his passion, as he feels compelled to solve the problems he encounters. He closes by encouraging students to take advantage of the abundant data accessible in all fields and to seek extraordinariness within themselves.
